To better make the point lets go over a comparison between traditional marketing and digital marketing. Take a look at the chart below, which was found at https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/fe/42/ed/fe42ed60c6edb8bd156d3664426545f3.jpg

This chart should give you a better idea of how much more profitable it is now to use digital marketing as opposed to traditional marketing. In an article about "Digital marketing Strategies" it's is point out that "traditional marketing has dropped 160%." This is because more businesses are finding it more profitable to use digital marketing. Clearly digital marketing has many advantages that eliminate the flaws of traditional marketing. Although, to be fair traditional marketing still has purpose movie posters, TV ads, radio ads, and billboards still catch the attention of possible consumers. So let's not just kill traditional marketing off just yet, but as more and more people are becoming more tied to the internet and social networking there is a clear advantage for marketing digitally.
You made a great point that digital marketing is the new trend. That traditional marketing efforts are transforming. If someone wants a successful business they must also adapt to digital world. Businesses are saving more by switching to digital marketing.
ReplyDeleteHello Mark,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog post extremely interesting and informative. For me digital marketing has always been a realm I was unfamiliar with. However, becoming more familiar with how the digital marketing field actually works, I have found the waters a bit easier to navigate. I couldn’t have agreed with you more “We live in a world now where everything is becoming internet based.” Everything is online these days. Digital content is at our fingertips and our ‘need to know’ information is right there. Digital marketing has created large waves in the sea of the corporate industry. The chart you provided in your blog post was amazing. It really depicted trends of digital marketing v. traditional marketing.
You made a really strong case for yourself when you said “When you're using digital marketing whether it’s an ad on Facebook, or an ad on a YouTube video people are being shown your business so often it will stick in their memory even if they don't realize it” Digital marketing is always around us because it’s so easily accessible. I never really thought of how profitable digital marketing is but rather focused on the convenience and ability to reach the masses. However, your statement coupled with the chart really indicates how financially impacting digital v. traditional marketing can be for a business. Learning points like this really drives home the importance of adapting to new ways of building a successful business. I wish you all of the best successes in your future.
Warm regards,
Mariah Masse
